4 cups all-purpose flour |

In a medium bowl combine flour and baking powder; cut in shortening. Beat egg; and orange juice, vinegar and water and stir into dry ingredients. Stir until dough holds together. Turn onto floured surface and knead 2 minutes until smooth. Cut dough into 32 equal pieces. Roll each piece into 4- to 5-inch circle. In large skillet heat oil to 375 degrees F. Fry circles, one at a time, in hot oil until crisp. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Makes 32, about 100 calories each. |
