As a regular of Lotus Room for many years, Lotus Room has had a rough ride over the last few years (the review by Robert is seemingly harsh and overly exaggerated). The introduction of new staff this year is most definitely a positive welcome and has reformed Lotus Room, bringing a friendly and welcoming service. Food has improved back to what it use to be if not better and you know it is great when you can overhear other customers commenting on the excellent food before you've even had yours, it's probably the best in Surrey! There is no doubt that the redecoration of Lotus Room has been a hit of miss for many people, they have tried too hard to make it look modern with the blue lights surrounded by spotlights. Classical Chinese music is welcoming but not when it is repeated on the same CD for the entire night. House wine is not worth going for, pay a bit more and go for something better, or maybe my wife is just being extra picky. Other than that, top quality food and service. Even on a packed Saturday night, the staff was brilliant, food was served in good time, highly recommended!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Clearly all above reviews are written by the staff. (check the spelling) Absolutely no atmosphere to start. The place has the cheapest decor in a spacy room that feels more like your in an Old Age Pensioners home. The inside lighting has got this UV Light Trap for flies feel about it. The music will make you wanna top youself by the end of your meal, all cheap and nasty. Food is no better than you bog standard chinese takeaway. A glass of poor red wine in the cheapest glass served. A flat Cola. Staff weren't the most efficient at serving. For a restaurant you'd think thats a bit of a must! When i recieved the bill (written in Chinese....i'm guessing) no reference had been made to the fact that service had been included. Yet they still indicated tip to be made when paying by card on the chip and pin machine. Thats the squeeze. I've never written a review online before but i gotta stop you folks having a dire evening. I definatley advise you go elsewhere!
