I've been visiting the Akash in the high street since the early 90s and have always thought it was the best indian food around the Medway area. Late last year they seemed to be experiencing problems in maintaining their usual high standards of service (perhaps there was a change of ownership?) Anyway, I seem to remember that we had a rather long wait for the main course to hit the table. On 12/3/11 I went there for a 9pm sitting with five friends. We'd already had a few alchoholic drinks beforehand so we just requested jugs of water when the waiter started taking our order. They didn't seem to like this! In total, I'd say we waited two hours for the main course to arrive. In addition, the rice dishes were cold. This is totally unacceptable - particularly as it wasn't too packed - and I'm certain that after a long and mostly happy relationship with the Akash, we'll be eating elsewhere in future.

This has easily got to be the best Indian Restaurant in Kent! My family have been coming here for ages and no where else even comes close. The staff are great and have a brilliant sense of humour. The food is outstanding.
