At last. A steakhouse that can actually cook a steak properly, not much to ask surely?! Really good meat and perfectly cooked medium-rare. Lovely intimate, livingroom vibe with very relaxed atmosphere. Both Lee and Emily (the owners) are lovely people willing to chat. It's a great place to go to get a decent cigar, Lee knows all there is to know about them. A great asset to Derby's list of eateries.

The most amazing steak I have ever tasted - I dont know what the recipe is for the steak but its unreal. the staff are friendly, not pushy at all, I could have stayed all night, very cosy, fabulous food.

Friends raved about this restaurant, so I took my girl friend there for an evening out. We were met by a waitress and later we found out she was the owner of the business - Emily. A nice lady and the big painting on the wall adds to the touch of this place. The starter was unexpectly better than I thought. I had the salmon parcel wrap and my girl friend had the ribs - Wow!!!!! The steaks were amazing! Both in terms of the taste and more importantly I think was they were cooked to the way I specified! This is unusual coz other restaurants I have been to in the past have always overcooked the steaks. What can I say!!! Surperb! To those of you just fancy that steaks. Emily's steakhouse should be your first choice.

From the outside looks a bit cafeish, but don't be put off by that. The food is good and although very small inside there is a nice ambience. It is run by a young couple and caters for breakfasts, lunches and steaks in the evenings. We had the steaks and they were excellent. The mushroom in garlic and coriander that we ordered to accompany the steaks were really nice. We did have to wait a fair time for the food to appear but that was because there was a large table being served and the place is run by just the young couple (he cooks and she serves). The wait was apologised for and was so long as to spoil the evening. We were a little disappointed to find that there was no housewine on the menu. But all in all a little gem.
