I had no idea Franny was gay or that he comes from Skye, how interesting

Red Onion is genuinely very good, the menu is varied and the service is good, tis true the chef personally mingles with the customers adding to the welcoming atmosphere. I also wanted to add that Franny is a boy.

I had been told of the glasgow being a friendly city, and my trip to this restaurant cemented this claim. The food was not overpriced at all, in fact the prices reflected the menu well, with the vegetarian dishes and sandwiches (huge portions) cheaper than most pubs I passed. For splashing out we took one of the lightly spiced fish specials (recommended by the chef himself coming to our table) - the price was around £15 but worth it as it was obviously cooked to order. For a relaxed night in the friendly city I would certainly come here again, with friends or business.

we had big expectations of our visit to red onion, partly because my boyfriend and i had travelled from Shetland and because the chf patron John Quigleuy has an excellent reputation, we were not dissapionted.

We had big expectations of our visit to red onion because we had made the journey from Shetland and also because of the chef owner JohnsQuigleys reputation,my boyfriend and i were not dissapionted.Running an hour late we were suprised to find red onion bustling at 10pm on a wed indeed mr Quigley himself greeted us.The service was friendly and prompt and the food ranged from simple -finnie haddie with poached egg an mornay sauce-to more complex-5 spiced gressingham duck with camalised coxs pippins-all in all well worth the trip.
