This restaurant is a low key affair. The Owner, actually a qualified accountant who is sending his children to private schools and university, is often doing the cooking himself. Service is likely to be a helpful student type or the owner\'s wife who is very thin but always wears a nice saree. She finds dealing with customers a little difficult and hardly smiles or talks but is really quite nice if you were to get to know her. The ambiance is pretty basic and certainly not a romantic restaurant. The food is freshly cooked from good quality fresh materials. mainly vegetarian but some meat dishes now. All very tasty ! Be aware the prices are tiny but so are the portions! A £3 dish is not a meal! Expect to order several dishes to make a meal. The masala Dosai at about £3.50 is almost half the price of the nearby Vijay and perhaps even more tasty. Its a light pancake with spicy potatoe filling and served with coconut and lemon chutney. I cannot recommend it more to serious food lovers. Sadly Martha doesnt like it much so she gives me half of hers which is not sad at all! A place for food lovers but not for a slick romantic meal out. Wine is quite cheap at about £8 a bottle ( or was it £6 ? ). Tony Glazier
