The Goa Balti is the best Indian restaurant i have been to. We have been coming here for for a few years now maybe once or twice a month. I have never had a bad meal here and the service is second to none.I will keep coming here as long as the food is good and it has been for the past 10 years.

Visited on 27th March 2010. Had a table booked for 7pm and was shown directly to it on arrival. The decor was slightly mundane almost austre with a rather worrying 70s lookalike seat fabric. The Greek dance music did little to create any ambience especially when it was heard to be on a continuous loop. The service throughout was attentive and prompt well mannered but with no one individual responsible for our table. The restaurant was well subscribed and clearly popular with families and couples alike. Because of our groups age range we had a mixture of starters and mains served together which was easily catered for. The poppadoms were slightly overcooked and the sambals were rather tired. The Lamb tikka starter was good although the rather ornate dressing seemed a little over the top. The onion bahji was excellent as was the Paratha, Chapati, Sag Aloo, and Pilau rice. The Prawn curry was very good with great flavours and together with the Goa special (chicken) were clearly freshly cooked dishes with very individual characters. The Chicken curry and Lamb Vindaloo were standard Bangladeshi batched cooked dishes albeit quite good. The drink service was good throughout and the bill not really any steeper than the Purbani or The Pink Olive (arguably its peer group). The Goa is a good to very good curry restaurant I doubt its Goan credentials would withstand close scrutiny however they are capable of cooking some very nice food. Top tips would be, lose the greek music, try and create a more (faux) authentic decor and assign table captains.

We have been to the Goa Balti at Everleigh several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed; always a warm welcome and excellent food in generous portions; pleasant ambience and location. We will certainly be going again.

goa balti , this restaurent is a total fake. i come from goa and when i drove past i thought i would have a taste of home. goan quisine is prodomanantly made up from a mixture of indian and portugese influences where the staple diet is fish, rice and pork. this place had no fish on the menu and definately no pork. on quetioning the waiter all the staff came from bangladesh , the food was awful, over priced, and ever dish tasted the same with very bright colours which no indian spice could produce. the bulk of the dishes on offer are from the northern region of india staple high street curry house crap. these people are taking us for a ride if you truly want good authentic food from the goa region of india try ma goa which is located in putney london. this is run by goans and produces authentic food from goa.

I have been using this restaurant for many years now, and i must say its the best Indian Restaurant i have ever been to. All cooked to order and fresh. The staff are very good at there jobs. It is a little expensive but you get what you pay for....

Yes I agree, the Balti in everleigh is superb, it has friendly accomodating staff and the food is very nice indeed. I think you will travel a long way to beat the quality of Indian food at this resturant. In fact after the meal I just had (garlic chilli chicken) I would be tempted to say u might need a plane ticket if you want to beat this one. Goa Balti rocks, all the locals know whats good and thats where they eat. Thanks Shane

Very efficient service BUT.... It was a shame to visit the Goa Balti restaurant after good recommendations, to feel that we were in an overpriced school dining hall with virtually no ambiance and no music! The food was above average, but small portions of what seemed like a one-pot massala - general sauce that was mostly red in everything.

This restaurant is quite overrated. The downlighters do not give an ideal ambience and it seemed more like a dining hall than a restaurant with a bad echo that made it impossible for one of our friends to hear any of us talking. The portions were not great and gave the impression that they were from a one-pot massala - I could be wrong, but red food colouring featured rather too much. The taste was average and our meal for 6 was £120 with 2 bottles of wine. The staff were very friendly and keen to sell us desserts!
