Prezzo took over at the Old Manor House in the last five years and is now well established as the best Italian eatery in a ten mile radius, offering good food at moderate prices, with some outdoor tables, when the weather suits. A simple pizza/pasta menu is supplemented by some unusual 'Specials' - try the crabcakes. I can also recommend the Honeycomb smash cheesecake as a pudding.Don't bother with the Tiramisu though :-). Good food, well served at a reasonable price.

The Old Manor House, reviewed in 2002 above has subsequently changed hands and is now called ' Prezzo ' The menu is STILL Italian but, contrary to the rather sniffy view below ,now includes pizzas...much to my children's delight. However, they are of the traditional Italian 'thin and crispy' variety...not a stuffed crust in sight...and bear scant relation to the Pizza Hut version. The crabcakes are a delight, the Ciabatta comes with olive oil to dip, their Carbonara meets Erin Dawes exacting and expert standards - and the house white is a very drinkable Trebbiano from Northern italy...enjoy!

Certainly one of the top restaurants in Hampshire. Don't be misled by the description 'Italian' - there are no pizzas, no lasagnes, no garlic bread and no waiters with 2' pepper mills! Almost everything on the menu will have been, gathered, shot, fished or trapped by the chef/proprietor. A speciality are his salamis and cured meats. If you're super rich go every day, if you're not then just go once in a while for a real treat.
