Superb food in a modern recently fully refurbished restaurant set in beautiful surroundings. We also have an 18 bay golf driving range to build up your appetite if needed!

We had looked forward to our meal at The Old Barn, Esholt - but sadly the barn has been modernised and lost its potential for character (although it does have a nice fireplace). The carvery meal was very poor. The vegetables and potatoes seem to have been left under the heat lamps for some time and were very dry and hard. The stuffing and cauliflower were quite the opposite - a soggy mush. The meat was quite tender to be fair - but the portion was small and cut very thinly indeed -quite a skill to shave it that well! (A pity the chef had not applied that skill in shaving himself). The waiters were polite and professional though. There was no real atmosphere - with only one other couple in the restaurant. We left after 10 minutes.
