Beware! The map of the location of this nice restarant is not correct. We walked 8 miles to return to this nice bistro style place today only to find we overshot as we based our walk on the map curretnly on this site. So go by all means but don't use the map on this site in order to get there. I have also seen conflicting post codes on different sites for this place so do be careful.

Wow I really can't believe the negative reviews for this restaurant! Verdi's is our favourite restaurant and serves good, wholesome italian food. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the staff are LOVELY. If you want a restaurant where you can laugh, chat and chill whilst eating great traditional italian food, then this is the place for you!

If your looking for a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and traditional Italian food you can't go wrong here. After moving to St Albans over 4 years ago this is by far our most visited restaurant, we have never found the staff anything over than friendly and has a speak easy feel. Expect simple "rustic" meals full of flavour at reasonable prices. Good night had by all.

Lovely Evening - Had a great night, service and food was fab, location was great too as the kids were able to play in the park after dinner. Would recommend for family and friends getting to gethers with kids.

Verdis is an excellent location - and benefits from the lack of good restaurant competition nearby. Unfortunately - every time we have eaten there, the food has been terrible. It\'s reached the point now where we literally have to search the menu for someting that they can\'t do a bad job with. Pizzas are salty and almost inedible. Pasta dishes are full of raw garlic. Salads are full of cheap tomatoes and ice berg lettuce. Come on Verdis. We need you to raise your game.

What a dreadful place! Service is awful to say the least, very rude waitress, did\'nt smile once & no thanks for her tip just a grunt! Such a shame as Clarence park is outstanding & deserves better quality than this heap they have a cheek to call a restuarant!!!

Not impressed at all, the grilled swordfish was bland as birdseed, cost £12 and came with no side dish at all, it wasn't even seasoned, just literally swordfish that'd been grilled. The cannelloni was equally as dull, the meat was grey and I've had tastier microwave meals from Iceland. The service was very good, apart from the waitresses standing right next to our table staring at us throughout the evening. The best point was the desserts, which were lovely, but overall I felt it would have been a better night out if it was still a public toilet.

I have been using this restaurant (which is a converted public convenience) for years. I have never been disappointed with the food, which is authentic Italian at very modest prices. I have always been treated with the utmost politeness, never been rushed or stood over. If you want the best table - in the conservatory, overlooking the park then book early. Bustling place with a great atmosphere. Not somewhere for a quiet romantic dinner though.

Verdi’s is an excellent family restaurant serving a wide range of good Italian food at very reasonable prices. The staff are always very welcoming and in the evening there is a cheerful lively atmosphere. The restaurant is in a great position with views over Clarence Park. I would highly recommend it.

If you like your meal in a brightly lit - almost school canteen style - setting, together with tables lined up in long rows, with the food rushed out and staff standing over you to get you out so they can get the next sitting in, then this is for you. If you want to savour the occasion is a discreetly lit venue, I wouldn't bother. Shame, because the food wasn't bad. Response from the venue to some constructive criticism was patronisig and quite offensive, so don't bother complaining if you don't like it.
