We tried the Thornescroft on a Saturday night and although the menu was limited and old-fashioned, the food was good. Unfortunately, everything else wasn't. We weren’t greeted on our arrival and the restaurant was as cold as the staff - we watched the two female waitresses vent their frustration at one colleague by mouthing f-rated obscenities all night! The beer was shocking - no real ales and the keg Bank's was undrinkable, the only ale in bottles was Spitfire, which was kept in the fridge! After paying our bill of £135.00 no one even bothered to say thank you or goodbye as we left. A total disappointment and we won't be returning.
