Namaste Lounge - Northwood, Middlesex

BEWARE!
I went for a night out at Namaste Lounge recently. I did the sensible thing and left my car in the car park overnight. When I returned the next day my car had been towed away and I was forced to pay £450.00 to get it back.
This car parking scam is run by a criminal with 1 eye!
DANGER!

It's such a shame, this used to be a lovely restaurant. Last time I went in the decor and the menus hadn't changed in over 10 years and the staff seemed very unmotivated.
I was assured by the waiter that the calamari was fresh, it clearly wasn't. It was some of the worst frozen calamari I've ever had. I also ordered a risotto but received something made with basmati rice. When I complained the chef came out and apologised. He said the owner was trying to save money and making him cook with substandard products. He seemed very embarrassed.
I used to eat here a lot and it was one of the things I'd been looking forward to on moving back to the area. Needless to say, I haven't been back.

Once you've stumbled across it, you can hardly believe this place exists. A true Italian café, complete with a sleekish sheen, smack on rough-around-the-edges Roman Road; it's almost mind-boggling. Yet, spectacularly, there it is, and it's the real deal.
Expect friendly, familiar and helpful counter-service. Expect espresso, cappuccino, even flavoured lattes that are strong, authentic, and worth-sipping. And perhaps most marvelously, expect the best panini in the whole of London.
That's a pretty lofty list of expectations to jot down, I realize, but oh, I am so not kidding on that last point. I dream of these panini: substantial, delectably filled, toasted to crispy perfection, and then wrapped up in white parchment like a wonderful present you can't wait to open. Make sure they make you one on the focaccia so that you can savor the depth of flavour and airy texture that the olive oil-laced bread imparts. I almost always go for the roasted vegetables and sun dried tomatoes combination - then ask them to add fresh mozzarella. Divine. I mean, where else in London can such edible excellence be had for less than four pounds??

This was one of the best bar diners ever - great food, friendly staff and loads of parking room. But it closed about 8 years ago - why is it still listed here?

Our whole family go here quite often, my parents have been going for years. Its one place where you are always made very welcome. If you haven't made a reservation, the waiters and waitresses find you a table, bring your drinks across, etc and really look after you and make your visit 'special'.
true food is great here, a good wide menu with something for everyone, even Gluten Free sufferers . The Steak Pie is legendary 0 huge chunks of meat under real short crust pastry, and the veg are always fresh and served with chunky hand cut chips. We often have fish, which always seems really fresh and tasty, especially the halibut. Pork belly must get a mention too.
A wonderful place, one of my favourites.
